Restricted / Unusual Items Policy
Taking Items into the Cabin
Liquids
- Container Limit: 100ml or less per container.
- Bag Limit: Must fit into one transparent, re-sealable 20cm x 20cm bag.
- Total Limit: 1,000ml per customer.
- Additional Purchases: You can buy more liquids in the departure lounge if needed.
Food and Drink
- Alcohol:
- Allowed if purchased in the airside departure lounge and unopened.
- Must be below 70% abv.
- Pack in an airport shopping bag or cabin bag.
- Consuming your own alcohol on board is forbidden and may lead to prosecution.
- Food:
- Allowed, but there’s a 100ml limit for liquid foods (e.g., soup, custard).
- Check regulations for importing food and drink for your destination.
- Hot Drinks:
- Allowed if bought at the airport and with a lid.
- Baby Food and Milk:
- Exempt from the 100ml limit, provided the total amount is no more than 1 litre.
- You may need to taste it for security reasons.
Cigarettes and E-Cigarettes
- Cigarettes:
- Allowed in your cabin bag.
- Check import limits for your destination.
- Lighters:
- Allowed, but must be carried in your pocket.
- Matches:
- Not allowed on board.
- E-Cigarettes:
- Allowed in the cabin bag.
- Maximum of two spare batteries.
- Not allowed in the hold.
- Smoking and re-charging are strictly prohibited on board.
Sharp Objects
- Allowed:
- Tweezers.
- Scissors with rounded ends and blades less than 6 cm long.
- Razor blades if set in plastic.
- Knives with blades not exceeding 6 cm.
- Not Allowed:
- Other sharp objects.
Pets
- Allowed:
- Recognized registered guide and assistance dogs.
Wedding Outfits
- Large Cabin Bag Allowance:
- Required for bringing a wedding outfit on board.
- Included with easyJet Plus, FLEXI, and Standard Plus fares or can be purchased separately.
- Garment Bags:
- Can be used for wedding outfits, fitting within large cabin bag dimensions or stored in overhead lockers.
- Hold Luggage:
- Wedding outfits can alternatively be checked into the hold.
Carrying Suits
- Suit Carrier or Garment Bag:
- Requires a large cabin bag allowance.
- Does not need to meet standard cabin bag dimensions as long as it can be easily stored and folded in the overhead locker.
Christmas Crackers or Party Poppers
- Christmas Crackers:
- Up to two sealed boxes (original packaging) allowed in your cabin bag.
- Some airports do not allow crackers in the cabin, so check your airport’s website.
- Party Poppers:
- Not allowed on board or in the hold.
Dry Ice
- Allowance:
- Maximum of 2.5 kg in your cabin bag.
- Must be used to preserve non-dangerous perishable goods.
- Inform Customer Service in advance.
Human or Pet Ashes
- Requirements:
- Copy of the death certificate.
- Copy of the cremation certificate.
- Securely packaged in an appropriate container.
- Inform security staff at the airport.
Smart Luggage

Definition:
- Contains a lithium battery or power bank.

In the Hold:
- Disconnect and remove the lithium battery/power bank.
- Take the battery/power bank into the cabin.

In the Cabin:
- Disconnect and remove the lithium battery/power bank but it can stay in the bag.
- Bags with unremovable batteries will not be accepted on board.
Camera Recording Equipment
- Large Cabin Bag Allowance:
- Required for carrying camera equipment.
- Can be outside normal baggage size limits (max. dimensions 63 cm x 27 cm x 28 cm).
- Must fit in the overhead locker length-wise.
- Must be able to disconnect and remove the lithium battery.
Putting Instruments in the Hold
- Size Limit:
- Instruments larger than 30 cm x 120 cm x 38 cm (e.g., double bass, harp) must be checked into the hold.
- Ensure proper packing and consider specialist travel insurance.
Print and Toner Cartridges
- Weight Limit:
- Cartridges weighing less than 500 g can be carried in your hold luggage.
- Total weight must not exceed 500 g.
- Cartridges heavier than 500 g are not allowed.
Camping Equipment or Stoves
- Flammable Liquids:
- Camping stoves and fuel containers can only be carried in the hold if empty and properly prepared.
- Empty containers must be drained, uncapped, and wrapped in absorbent material.
- Camping stoves and fuel containers are not allowed in the cabin.
Frozen Embryos
- Approval:
- Contact Customer Service for prior approval to carry frozen embryos in the cabin.
